Bacon Wrapped Green Beans

Taking green beans up a notch, these are yummy green bean bundles wrapped in bacon and brushed with a slightly sweet buttery glaze.  I make these every year for our Christmas dinner and they ALWAYS disappear.  Give them a try at your next holiday or any day meal.

1 lb. Fresh Green beans, ends snipped
1 pkg. Bacon, your favorite
6 Tbsp. REAL Butter, unsalted
1/2 cup Brown sugar
1/2 tsp. Garlic salt
1/4 tsp. Soy sauce

Boil a large pot of water.  Begin by washing and cutting off the stem ends of the beans.  Once the water starts boil, submerge your beans into it and allow them to cook for about 5 minutes.  Remove, drain, and plunge directly into COLD WATER to stop the cooking process.

Once the beans are cool enough to handle, start bundling piles of about 8 – 10 beans together, make sure to pile beans with sizes almost the same.  Making these little piles will make your assembly easier when wrapping them with the bacon.

Once your beans are all piled up; open the bacon and cut them into halves.  Now take a bundle of beans and lay it over one of the bacon halves, as pictured below.

CAREFULLY, tie a knot once and try to tuck the bacon ends under the knot.

Place them onto a lightly buttered baking sheet.

Preheat the oven to 400° degrees.  Now make the glaze by combining the rest of the ingredients into a saucepan and stirring until the butter and brown sugar melts.  Cook this for about 3 minutes or until bubbly.

Now, brush the bean and bacon bundles with the glaze.  Place into preheated oven and bake the for about 15 – 30 minutes OR until bacon turns slightly crisp.  Remove and serve immediately.  ENJOY!
